v3.62.0
This release brings a redesigned navigation experience with a new default home dashboard and left rail, plus improvements to the Director for dragging from the tray. New users are also now guided towards a more reliable video model.
New layout on by default
The New navigation layout is now the default for all users. This includes the tab strip, a redesigned collapsible left rail, and the new home dashboard. If you previously selected the Classic layout, your preference is preserved. The new rail provides quick access to Home (dashboard), Library, Canvas, Jobs, Compositor, and Director from a single, expandable sidebar.
Home dashboard
A new home dashboard is now available at / when the New layout is enabled. This beta feature provides an overview of your recent activity, quick-start tiles for different generation types, your active job queue, account balance, and the latest model updates. It’s designed to help you jump back into your work or start a new project quickly. When the dashboard is disabled in settings, / continues to redirect to the Projects tab.
Director tray improvements
You can now drag and drop images and audio files directly from the Director tray onto the opening slots (Start frame, First end frame, and Opening track) and the composer’s Target Audio slot. The tray’s visual design has been refined to be more intuitive, with automatic folding when empty, stable hover previews, and clearer visual feedback during drag operations. Dragging a picture to the composer field while live now correctly releases the associated hardware resources.
Seedance 2.5 as default for new users
New users are now guided to use Seedance 2.5 for video generation instead of Seedance 2.0, as it offers significantly higher success rates. This change applies to the video generation tile on an empty canvas, the mobile creation interface, and the default model for new video nodes. Cost remains comparable for onboarding use cases. Existing users’ preferences and workflows are unaffected.
Quality of life
- A file dragged from the Director tray now immediately opens the tray if it was folded.
- The Director’s “Tray” label and tooltip now more clearly explain its purpose for live sessions.
- Hover rings on Director tray cards are no longer visually cut off by the scrollable container.
- Uploading a still image to the Director tray is now properly coordinated with actions like using it for a cue, preventing conflicts.
- The Director tray’s file picker no longer incorrectly applies size limits meant for video files when selecting audio.
